PAMELA A. BOWER, ESQ., represents policyholders in insurance coverage and bad faith matters arising under directors and officers liability policies, employment practices liability policies, errors and omissions policies, general liability policies, umbrella and excess policies, and other business and personal lines insurance policies. Her insurance coverage and bad faith practice extends to all phases of negotiation and civil litigation, including mediation, arbitration, trial and appeal. Recently, with co-counsel Randy Hess, she obtained an $8 million verdict that included an award of over $7 million in punitive damages against Pacific Specialty Insurance Company, after the jury unanimously found that the insurer breached the insurance contract, breached the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and engaged in malice, oppression or fraud.
Ms. Bower earned her A.B. in English from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987, and she received her J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law in 1990. Ms. Bower is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in the state of California. She is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association. She has served on the San Mateo Superior Court Civil Case Management/ADR Committee, a bench-bar committee. She has served as a speaker/panelist for the California Mortgage Association concerning commercial hazard insurance issues. She has also served as a past panelist for the Association of Defense Counsel’s continuing legal education programs, among many other speaking engagements.
