
Edward C. McDonald, Jr., ESQ., is a senior litigation attorney with the law firm of Adleson, Hess & Kelly, a Professional Corporation. Mr. McDonald’s practice emphasizes civil litigation and jury trials in business, commercial transactions, real estate secured transactions, and commercial and residential landlord/tenant matters. Mr. McDonald received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Santa Clara School of Law and his M.B.A. from the University of Santa Clara, Leavey School of Business in 1984. He received an A.B. degree in History, with honors, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
In addition to his extensive litigation experience in state and federal courts in California, Mr. McDonald has a special expertise in all aspects of manufactured housing law, with representation of manufactured community owners, operators, and managers throughout California. To that end, Mr. McDonald is a service and industry member of the Western Manufactured Housing Community Owner Association. Since 1992, he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Western Manufactured Housing Educational Group and has been responsible for the oversight of the ongoing accreditation of manufactured housing community managers throughout California. He has also acted as a contributing author, lecturer and presenter for the WMA Management Accreditation Program from 1992-2006. Mr. McDonald is also a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and a past Member of the Board of Trustees and the West Valley Bar Association.
Mr. McDonald has prepared appellate briefs and argued before the state appellate courts, including the reported decision of Melendrez v. D & I Investment (2004) 127 Cal.App. 4th 1238, among other matters. Mr. McDonald is admitted to practice before all state courts in the state of California and the federal district courts for the Northern, Southern and Eastern districts of California.
